The production started in 2009, and the 2011 hybrid and diesel versions were launched. In 2013 a facelift was added. It is with four-wheel drive, front engine and an option for a rear-wheel-drive. In 2013 is launched S-E-Hybrid and in 2016 are redesigned the models.
It is considered a full-size luxury car, with some similarities to 911, but the interior was times better, including better technology and expensive leather. The production was happening in Germany.
The first generation was launched between 2010 and 2016. At first were introduced V8 Panamera S, 4S, and the Turbo models. Twin Turbo 507 PS had 500 hp and 4,8L engine. Later on, were launched Panamera and Panamera 4 with three and3.6 liters V6 engines and 300hp. V6 remains with the same technologies as V8, like a variable intake manifold, dry sump lubrication, and spots plus button as an option. In 2011 were introduced Panamera S Hybrid, and Diesel with a rear wheel drive and GTS, Turbo S with four-wheel drive PMT.
ZF-7 speed dual clutch transmission was new on Panamera 4,4S and the Turbo versions with a 6-speed manual. S Hybrid and the Diesel models had an eight-speed-automatic transmission- Tiptronic S.
Consists of improvements such as high-pressure fuel injection and 4.8Litre V8. It accelerates up to 113km in 3.8 seconds. Improved PDK gearbox makes the shifting easier.
In 2011 was launched Panamera S Hybrid with 3 liters v6 engine with 328hp with electric motor of 46hp and the same power train as Cayenne S Hybrid and the same 8 speed Tiptronic S.
With a top speed of 270 km per hour it became the most environmentally friendly model of Porsche with an average consumption of 9.4l/100 km. The sales for 2011-2013 reached 684 cars.
It was launched in 2011 with the same Audi engine from Cayenne Diesel. It is with 247hp, 3l v6 reaching a top speed of 242 km per hour, while becomes the most economical to drive Porsche from all existing models with 6.3 liters per 100km average consumption.
Panamera platinum was launched in the market in 2012, with larger wheels, luxury leather from the inside and an option for all wheel drive or rear, being with the fastest acceleration among all the models of less than 5.8 seconds from 0 to 97km. Panamera edition was introduced in 2015 with some exterior changes.
With new front and rear bumpers was introduced a facelift version under the name Panamera S and a hybrid model under the name E-Hybrid. Later on, in 2014 was introduced and Turbo S version.
A new- plug-in model able to reach 135 km per hour in electric mode with 416 bhp. The battery would fully charge in 2.5 hours. The plugin helps reduce the consumption to 3.1l per 100 km. It can run both on electricity and fuel. It contributes to approximately 10% of all Panameras sold in 2014.
The second generation was introduced in 2016 with new touch screen interior, Apple CarPlay and voice control. In 2018 was presented a new Turbo S E-Hybrid model with 5 l v8 engine from the Panamera Turbo together with an electrical motor making 671bhp and the third fastest car among all Porsches.
Panamera Sport-Turismo introduced in 2017 is announced the fastest stock estate car with 671 bhp. It was offered with liftback saloon and five doors.
